Had an idea this summer to make tea towels for Christmas and holiday gifts this year. My favorite online fabric shop (Spoonflower) was having a fantastic fabric sale which I couldn’t pass up.
I took an old tropical leaf design I did a couple years ago, and transformed it into the design. I used a vibrant dark pink and aqua blue in the design to change it up from the traditional green and red holiday colors.
After submitting the design I anxiously awaited to see how they printed. When the package arrived I could hardly wait to see what they looked liked. They were perfect!
I cut each rectangle out and then got the old sewing machine out to start sewing them. Simple straight stitch on the sides which I had turned in worked perfect.
Add a little homemade treat and you’ve got a beautiful, simple, handmade holiday gift.
